According to the CSC, the exam will cover the following scope:

- General Information about – Philippine Constitution; Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees (R. A. 6713); peace and human rights issues and concepts; and environment management and protection.
Notes: The Sub-professional level also has similar coverage but doesn’t cover Analogy and Logic but has Clerical Operations questions.

Civil Service Exam Passing Rate in 2024
All Civil Service exam – professional and sub-professional; Paper and Pencil and Computer-Assisted Test require a passing rate of 80%.
I honestly didn’t find the exam so difficult. However, I admit the time was almost not enough compared to other exams.
I can say that anyone with good English and Filipino vocabulary and grammar usage and anyone who is good in Math and has analytical skills can ace the exam.
One very effective tip to pass it is to review very well. Don’t spend too much time in answering one number because the time limit is not generous.
No calculator is allowed so don’t stress and just enjoy answering and computing the numerical questions. Never lose focus and understand what you are reading on the Reading and Comprehension questions or you might panic.
The key to pass the CSC examination is to relax and enjoy answering all the questions. One of the most important things to do before the exam is prepare for it. How would you prepare for it? REVIEW!

walang reviewer na makakatulong sayo directly kasi hindi parehas ang scope ng exams everytime. but the key is kelangan talaga magfocus sa grammar and communication kasi medyo malaki ang sakop niy sa exams. pati sa logic and clerical operations. once confident ka na madami kang nakuhang correct answers sa mga fields na yan, malaki ang chance mong makapasa since 80% naman ang passing grade

My first take was 2015, and I was in 3rd year college that time. And my second take was this last August 12, 2018 and luckily, I did pass the exam. What I did is to enjoy the exam, actually my legs were spread out while taking the exam in a lazy position. Cuz I really think I wasn’t ready for the exam since I’ve never review any notes for it. I don’t even have a pen that time I just sneaked on my brother’s ball pen on his backpack. I forgot to buy foods, I don’t even have water too. I was very thirsty while taking the exam, but I wasn’t able to buy water because there is no water vendor nearby. So I continued taking the exam, when I reach item no.92, i look at my answer sheet and realized my answers seems to be in pattern. There are always these items that the answers was 3X the same. Since I am no good in Math, I answered the items in math which I am sure with, and just followed the pattern for those i don’t know.

Pagkakaalam ko is 150 lang exam since personal info ang 20. Exam is divided into 4. Part 1,2 & 3 is 95% while part 4 is 5%.
Yan rin alam ko na computation. Ang di ko alam kung pano nacocompute yung each part ng test kung Number of Correct answers ÷ number of items *100 or Number of correct answers ÷number of items *50+50

I can say that csc exam is the best of all the best because there is no using of calculator. 🙂
Well actually, Chemical Engineering licensure exam’s last day is about Physics and Math. And use of CALCULATOR is also not allowed. CSE’s mathematics part is basically high school math that can be easily solved without calculators. The time pressure, though.
I’ve been taking CS exams many times na po,. I need some advice, tips and techniques po para sana pumasa na rin.
First, pray from the moment you scan all the review materials you can find until the moment the results of the examination are released. Nothing beats it. Secondly, never be too confident. Cramming may work for some but generally, it is not really good for it encourages laziness. Start reviewing bits everyday while the date of exam is still a long way. Practice solving those elementary math problems where you have to do the calculations manually and I mean, practice! Third, read more and if it will work for you, watch good, old movies where the actors use formal english we don’t encounter everyday. Fourth, eat chocolate an hour before the exam to stimulate you. God bless on your next try. Don’t give up.

Yung nagtake po ba ng civil service exam last December 6, supposed to be by January 20 ang release ng result? So nervous po talaga ko kasi the last tym I failed. Na frustrate ako but I decided to take the exam again after a year. But eto n naman aq s feeling na sobrang kabado. Hindi naman aq nagtake for granted,I exert effort bit unfortunately I failed. Medyo nkakainis lang kasi piling ko Hindi yta para s akin tong csc pero pangarap ko n maging part ng government. I’ve already printed various reviewer and even downloads some tutorials video. Hopefully sana na makuha ko na itong darating n resulta. It’s hard but kailngan e. Taking 3hours on answering the exam makes me feel weak and so hungry but nonetheless it would be worth it if I passed it this time. If not, better luck again next April 2016. I will try again and again.

I didn’t have the strength to take the exam; out of fear of not passing the exam. Being anxious of not passing these sort of exams, I’ve had the dilemma of picturing myself failing the exam in a progressive manner. Please lend me an advice for passing this exam. I think I now have the courage to take a C.S. exam. Who in here can at least give me a helpful tip on how to pass this exam? Sa matematiks sa Khan Academy, sa ingles Grammarly, Grammarcc, at iba pa bisitahin mo. Ugaliin mo rin magbasa ng kalidad na mga libro para masanay kang bumuo ng mas maayos ng pangungusap.

Half-day lang ang exam around 4-5 hours in total but really the TIME is the great challenge coz it seems that time is not enough to answer all those questions.

hi mam. thank you for your efforts, doing this site just for the sake of us who took the cs examination. this site is very helpful for us. you’re right. the exam is not that hard and not that easy. average lang. nakakalito lang ang mga choices, sobra. parang magkakalapit lahat . hindi gaya sa math, na kung anong nasolve mo. nakalagay na sa choices. sa ngayon, prayers nalang kelangan ko. hopefully i’ll ace the exam for one take only. bago ako mag graduate ng college 🙂 thank you po talaga.
